That is important but so is making sure your teams are being well taken care of at stations like AUS. Speak to the Union Reps there and they will help you know what needs to be changed.

I’m very excited to share that J.D. Power has ranked Southwest as the #1 airline in Customer Satisfaction among Economy Class Passengers. This is the third year in a row Southwest has achieved this amazing recognition. I want to celebrate our Southwest Employees for sweeping all seven study dimensions, including Day of Travel Pre/Post-Flight Experience, On-Board Experience, Ease of Travel with Airline, Digital Tools, Value for Price Paid, Level of Trust with Airline, and Airline Staff. What an accomplishment, and it’s thanks to you all!

Our Customers travel for many reasons—happy and sad—and recently, Denver Ops Agent Michael O. helped a family who, unfortunately, was traveling to say goodbye to a loved one. I received the following note about Mike: “I want to highlight what Mike did the other night. It is Employees like Mike who are the Heart of Southwest. My mother-in-law found out that her mom was not going to live much longer. She rushed to the airport in Denver to try and make the last flight out. I was also rushing from Dallas to meet her in Nashville to help her get there. I want to give a Shout Out to Mike for his love that night. He went above and beyond to help my mother-in-law get on a flight to say goodbye to her mom. He didn’t have to do what he did. I want to thank Mike, and my mother-in-law's Nashville Flight Crew for connecting her to what matters most when time was of the essence. I hope you’ll give Mike a Shout Out for a job done lovingly and with compassion.” Mike, thank you for demonstrating our Values and providing Service with LUV to a family traveling under difficult circ*mstances.

As the school year winds down, I am reminded of a special memory from last year when an amazing teacher, Ms. White, went viral for turning her classroom into a Southwest plane and, “flying" her students to Mexico. Our Southwest Team was so inspired by her creativity that we gave those young aviators a field trip they'd never forget! The kids spent the day at our Dallas Headquarters checking out a plane, touring our maintenance hangar, and meeting Pilots and Flight Attendants who delivered messages meant to inspire the kiddos to follow their dreams. The day ended with a fun surprise as the Team gave all the first-grade teachers and the principal two round-trip tickets anywhere Southwest flies, along with $10,000 for their school—that’s a big flex! I am so grateful for incredible teachers like Ms. White who are shaping our future Southwest Employees and Leaders. We couldn’t do it without you!

The use of ground power systems at our airports helps us to conserve fuel, which is an important part of our Nonstop to Net Zero plan and path to net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Congrats to our SEA Team for their operational efficiency accomplishments, recently recognized by the Port of Seattle for the greatest use of pre-conditioned air ground systems!
