The Oklahoma Sooners put together a power display reminiscent of many of the wins OU has racked up over the years. They put together an impressive power display that was only matched by their patience at the plate. Oklahoma hit four home runs and racked up eight walks, including four in the bottom of the fifth to earn the walk off run rule win over the Florida State Seminoles on Thursday night.
Alyssa Brito had two home runs, Kinzie Hansen hit her ninth of the year, and Tiare Jennings moved into a tie for third all time with the 95th home run of her career. Brito hadn’t homered since April 26 but she erupted in the win to go 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs, and a walk to go along with her two home runs.
It was the type of performance that reminds everyone why Oklahoma is the three time defending national champion and the favorite to win it all once again in 2024.
On a night when Kelly Maxwell had to battle for the complete game victory, the Sooners offense took care of business in the early going and kept the pressure on Florida State’s pitching staff throughout. Now the Sooners are one win away from another trip to the Women’s College World Series.
Oklahoma’s offense has been on a tear since losing the series to Oklahoma State. Dating back to the Sunday win over the Cowgirls, Oklahoma is outscoring their opponents 65-14 and have won eight in a row in the process.
It was a fantastic win over the Seminoles on Thursday night and here’s how social media reacted.

Sooners offense never left
The #Sooners move 1 win from the #WCWS with an 11-3, 5-inning triumph over Florida State on Thursday night.
The Sooners’ offense battered the Seminoles’ pitching staff for 11 hits and 4 home runs including two bombs from third baseman Alyssa Brito.

Just an impressive display
Oklahoma Sooners beat Florida State in WALK off fashion, 11-3.
Sooners had the power clicking and the Seminoles pitching staff had no answers.
Super Regionals continue tomorrow with Oklahoma up 1-0.

Might run away with it
Is it too early to name Alyssa Brito super regional MVP?
— Seth Oliveras (@SethOliveras) May 24, 2024
When she's on, she's incredible
Woah. Alyssa Brito absolutely blasted a two-run moon shot to left-center. That might’ve gone over the big board.#Sooners take a 7-2 lead in B4.

Big night for Brito
To say Alyssa Brito was due might be an understatement. Her two home runs were her first since April 26 against UCF.

An incredible career
That solo home run was Tiare Jennings’ 95th of her career. That ties her with Lauren Chamberlain in career home runs at 3rd all-time. #Sooners

Boomer!!!
I told mom about OU baseball winning and Tiare’s #95. I said “it’s a good day to be a Sooner. Mom said – I’m 91 and I don’t remember a day that wasn’t. @OUontheAir

They were fantastic from the plate
So what’s most scary about todays performance by the @OU_Softball is the fact Maxwell may of had her worst outing of the year in the circle and they run rule FSU with little issues. #BoomerSooner
