A network node is a connection point in a communications network. Each node is an endpoint for data transmissions or redistribution. Nodes have either a programmed or engineered capability to recognize, process and forward transmissions to other network nodes.

In a computer network, nodes can be physical networked devices, such as modems, PCs and printers. These devices recognize transmissions from other nodes and forward them to other nodes. A node checks for identification, such as an IP address, to grant access to the node.

Print request. An employee sends a print request from a computer to a printer located in another part of the office. The employee's computer is a node on the network. The request travels over the network and through a series of other nodes -- a router, for example -- on the company LAN. The request reaches the printer, also a node; it processes the request and completes the printing job.

Base station controller. This is a node on a cellular network that provides intelligent network services to devices. The base station controller sits between the cell sites and mobile switching center, which are also nodes on the cell network. Base station controllers determine how cell signals should be routed through the network.

Peer-to-peer mesh network. A peer-to-peer mesh network lets mobile devices communicate information without Wi-Fi or cellular service. In a mesh network topology, every node connects to every other node. Cellphones act as nodes and extend their signals to other cellphones in the network that may be experiencing a service outage. IBM's The Weather Company is using this approach to transmit critical information when other networks may be down.

Internet of things. IoT networks connect devices of all types -- not just computers -- to the internet. Each device is a node on the IoT network. Edge nodes create data from IoT devices. Fog nodes add another layer of physical servers that bring real-time analytical processing to IoT networks.

Most content on a Drupal website is stored and treated as "nodes". A node is any piece of individual content, such as a page, poll, article, forum topic, or a blog entry. Comments are not stored as nodes but are always connected to one. Treating all content as nodes allows the flexibility to create new types of content. It also allows you to painlessly apply new features or changes to all content of one type.

The ability to create different "content types" is a way Drupal allows you to have different kinds of nodes for different purposes. For example, an "article" is one content type, a "book page" is another, and a "blog entry" yet another. You can also create new content types of your own.

The Node module also enables you to create multiple versions of any piece of content, and revert to older versions using the Revision information settings. You can review and revert revisions through the "Revisions" tab on any content, and add new ones in the "Revision information" settings when editing a given node.

Production dependencies can be generated by copying the package.json and package-lock.json and then running npm ci --omit dev (you can skip this step if your app doesn't have any dependencies). When pruning, it is important to locate a plant's nodes. Generally, you want to make a pruning cut just above, but not too close to, a node. Pruning in this manner encourages the buds at that node to begin development. Ultimately, it will form new stems or leaves.

Adventitious buds arise at sites other than the terminal or axillary position. They may develop from roots, a stem internode, the edge of a leaf blade or callus tissue at the cut end of a stem or root. Adventitious buds allow stem, leaf and root cuttings to develop into entirely new plants.

A leaf is held away from its stem by a stemlike appendage called a petiole. The base of the petiole is attached to the stem at a node. Petioles vary in length or may be lacking entirely. If there is no petiole, the leaf blade is described as sessile or stalkless.

There are no additional costs to use Amazon EKS managed node groups, you only pay for the AWS resources you provision. These include Amazon EC2 instances, Amazon EBS volumes, Amazon EKS cluster hours, and any other AWS infrastructure. There are no minimum fees and no upfront commitments.

Every managed node is provisioned as part of an Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling group that's managed for you by Amazon EKS. Moreover, every resource including Amazon EC2 instances and Auto Scaling groups run within your AWS account.

If you are running a stateful application across multipleAvailability Zones that is backed by Amazon EBS volumes and using the Kubernetes Autoscaling, you should configure multiple node groups, each scoped to a single Availability Zone. In addition, you shouldenable the --balance-similar-node-groups feature.

You can use a custom launch template for a greater level of flexibility and customization when deploying managed nodes. For example, you can specify extra kubelet arguments and use a custom AMI. If you don't use a custom launch template when first creating a managed node group, there is an auto-generated launch template. Don't manually modify this auto-generated template or errors occur.
