Why is my Litter-Robot ready light flashing? ›

Flashing sequentially: Unit cannot find home position. - - Flashing at same time: Unit cannot find dump or home position. Pressing while the Blue LED is illuminated will empty all litter from Globe into the Waste Drawer. Press any button to return the Globe to home position.

If the timing light is flashing red or you are receiving a "Cat sensor fault" notification in the Whisker app, this indicates the cat sensor has been continuously activated for 30 minutes or more, either by a cat that won't leave the globe or by too much weight in the unit.

If your unit is stuck during a cycle, short press the Reset button to continue and complete the cycle. If your unit is still stuck and it is in an error state, long press the Reset button for 3 seconds to zero the weight scale. Turn Litter-Robot off and unplug the unit.

These sensors detect when a cat has entered or exited the unit. If the unit detects an issue with all three laser sensors, called curtain sensors, it will indicate a fault with the entire system and the light bar on the Litter-Robot will display red and blue alternating lights.

Litter-Robot 4: Hard reset

Press and hold the Reset and Connect buttons for 3 seconds, then power the unit on.

Check for obstructions blocking the drawer full indicator (DFI) sensors. There are two sensors inside the base, above where the waste drawer would sit. Debris, such as dust or cat fur, can interfere with the DFI sensor. This can cause the unit to inaccurately trigger a drawer-full indication.

Clean the globe with Litter-Robot Cleaner Spray or Cleaner Wipes, or with water and a mild soap. There are no electronic components in the globe that can be damaged by soap and water. If the globe has become extremely dirty, it can be soaked and cleaned with a water hose.

If your unit's light bar is solid red, this indicates that the cat sensor has been triggered (kitty entered globe). The unit will cycle once the cycle delay countdown is up or if you press the Reset button.

Why won't my Litter-Robot stop blinking? ›

Flashing quickly (about four times per second) means the anti-pinch safety feature detected a pinch condition. In this case, you will need to turn the Litter-Robot off and check the waste port in the base to remove any obstruction. Then turn the unit back on and hit the Reset button.

If your unit has a flashing red light bar or the unit will not cycle, this indicates that the cat sensor has been triggered for more than 30 minutes. You will also receive a notification on your phone if you use the Whisker app.

Note: During use, when the cat comes in and out, the pedal becomes loose, the red light flashes, and a beeping sound is caused. This is because the position of the pedal moves. It is not sensed by the machine and the pedal needs to be restored to its original position.

To reconnect your unit, re-enable the connection by pressing the Connect button once to turn the WIFI off, indicated by a white Connect LED. Then, press the Connect button a 2nd time to reestablish the connection. The Connect LED will begin flashing blue again but should change to solid blue after a few seconds.
