FAQs

Should I let Wyll break his pact? ›

Yes, breaking Wyll's contract is ideal for every playthrough. It is possible to break Mizora's pact and rescue Duke Ravengard in the same playthrough, although the quest tied to saving the duke will be slightly altered if you broke Wyll's pact.

Why is the BG3 level cap so low? ›

To put it simply: a cap of level 20 would make the game impossibly long, with at least an entire additional act needed to accommodate it. It also implements a balance of rewarding the player by leveling up at key intervals without delving into the more overpowered abilities of D&D's higher levels.

Does karmic dice make game harder? ›

If you play on Tactician, having the Karmic Dice on will make the game significantly harder. This is because enemies already have a +2 on every roll they do, which means by increasing their lower average you will effectively make them do more damage to you.

What happens if Wyll kills Karlach? ›

Killing Karlach

His conviction falters and his celebration is a muted one. After a long rest, Wyll is visited by his patron, who reveals that she was less truthful when sending Wyll to kill Karlach. She also rewards Wyll with an Infernal Robe, a cloth armor that can be very useful with the right Eldritch Invocations.

Can I save Wyll's father without Mizora? ›

You can do both – BG3

It's actually possible to learn the location of Wyll's father without Mizora's help – or you can just go there if you know he's being kept in the Iron Throne. With this knowledge, you can break Wyll's pact with Mizora and still save his father.

Can you save Ravengard if you break the pact? ›

If Wyll ends the pact, the party can still find their way to the Iron Throne, and Ravengard will be alive, but once he's freed, Mizora will summon six explosive spiders to try and kill him. This makes the situation more dangerous, but the party can still get him out alive.

Will BG3 ever go to level 20? ›

Baldur's Gate 3 is based on Dungeons & Dragons 5e, but reaching the maximum level of 20 isn't possible in this video game version of the beloved tabletop RPG.

How old is Elminster in BG3? ›

Gale describes him as being approximately "thirteen centuries old."

Can you be evil in BG3? ›

1: Yes, going evil will have some companions leave you (specifically Karlach, Wyll, and Gale... though I think you can persuade Gale into staying.). In return you do get a couple evil companions. 2: While it is entirely possible to do an evil playthrough, doing so cuts out a massive portion of the game's content.

Should I turn off karmic dice in Baldur's Gate 3? ›

Just roll with it.

As IGN's Rebekah Valentine reported this week, Baldur's Gate 3 players may want to turn Karmic Dice off in the game settings. Karmic Dice, which are enabled by default, avoid failure streaks, while keeping the results mostly random.

Are combat rolls rigged in BG3? ›

The truth is rolls are rigged in both modes, depending on the situation. You'll notice incredibly high rate of low rolls for your party during combat, but the same trend won't apply to enemies, especially when they're setting up early in the fight. This is with "karmic" dice on or off.

Is karmic dice cheating? ›

No, because that's actually part of D&D system. If somebody at the table is using weighted dice they'd be called out for cheating and karmic dice used to be called weighted dice in the options for a reason.

Can I revive Karlach after killing her? ›

You'll want to do this without Wyll in the party. Next, return to camp and tell Wyll you've done the deed. Afterward, go back to Karlach's body and use a Scroll of Revivify to bring her back to life. Be sure to raise her as far from the party as you can so she doesn't notice you were there.

Is it worth killing Mizora in BG3? ›

Consequences of Killing Or Saving Her

If the player decides to kill her, then, as stated before, they will lose one of their companions, Wyll. On the other hand, if Mizora is saved, then she will eventually have to free Wyll out of his contract with her. That said, this could indeed take some time.

Why is Karlach not on the cover? ›

The cover art was produced before Karlach was fully implemented in the game, leading to her absence. The early artwork featuring Mizora might not align with the revised backstory of certain characters like Wyll. Some fans humorously suggest reasons for Karlach's missing presence, like invisibility potions.

Can you romance Mizora if you break your Wyll pact? ›

Speak to Mizora again after the coronation. The player should then do a Long Rest. When that is done, Mizora will come to the player's camp and propose to break Wyll's contract, however, that would be in exchange for his father's life. The decision taken here does not matter when it comes to romancing her.

What's the best choice for Wyll BG3? ›

Whom should you save between Wyll and his father in Baldur's Gate 3? You should choose to save Wyll's father, Duke Ravenguard in Baldur's Gate 3. In order to do this, you will have to convince Wyll to accept the contract with Mizora in the game. This will make Wyll happy since he knows his father will be safe.

What happens if you break your oath Baldur's Gate 3? ›

After breaking your oath, the Oathbreaker Knight will be at your camp. Speak with him to unlock the Oathbreaker subclass and replace your previous channel oath abilities. If you change your mind, you can speak to the Oathbreaker Knight again to reclaim your Oath. This will cost you 1000 gold, though.

Does romancing Mizora affect other romances? ›

wiki says it can jeopardize other romances if you have them. The ones at potential risk: Wyll, Gale, Minthara, Lae'Zel, and POSSIBLY Karlach's. (She can be persuaded to forgive you.)
