Background[]
Dwargon is an immensely powerful nation, with its technological might being unmatched in the west. It's made up of three major cities, with "Central" being its capital. It was founded roughly a thousand years ago by the Hero King Guran Dwargo, using a naturally occurring hollow at the base of the Canaat Mountains as its foundation. The gates to the capital are the only point of entry, making it a natural fortress that has survived against many enemy attacks. Being inside a large underground cavern, the environment is naturally a bit chilly, but with the help of magic that is never a concern as the temperature can freely be altered to the people's convenience.
Government[]
Dwargon is a traditional monarchy that is ruled over by a king and a board of ministers. It has a typical class system with nobility and the upper class, although their status does not prevent them from fulfilling their mandatory military service.
Military[]
Dwargon's army is composed of 7 corps, each tasked with different roles. The three support groups working behind the scenes are the engineer corps, logistics corps, and the first-aid corps. The three main groups acting on the front lines are the heavy attack corps, the magic attack corps, and the magic support corps. [1]
In addition, there are the royal guards and Pegasus Knights — a secret force under the direct control of the king. Pegasus knights horses were upgraded from C-ranked to A-minus. Whatever could upgrade creatures like that must have been kept under tight secrecy. Former and current officers were heard half-told rumors. [2]
They also have the intelligence service. A team gifted in the art of camouflage and covert missions.
Economy[]
Most of Dwargon's national revenue is generated entirely from its industrial output, handling a variety of fields which includes, but is not limited to, clothing, medicine, smithing, architecture, and coinage. Despite being an independent nation, Dwargon does not produce enough food to sustain its massive population and relies on imports from other countries, with the Kingdom of Falmuth being its main trading partner for centuries due its close proximity to Dwargon and being the only western nation to provide a safe trade routes to and from the dwarven kingdom. Following the rise of the Jura-Tempest Federation, Falmuth lost its trade monopoly with Dwargon, allowing merchants and traders to enter Dwargon's market via the highway network built and maintained by Tempest.
Dwargon regulates and distributes its own currency, with its minted coins being the most widespread form of currency in the world, seeing use even within the Eastern Empire. It is also one of the few countries to enjoy an open trade relationship with the Sorcerous Dynasty of Sarion.
Specialty[]
Among Dwargon's many technological feats, its particularly hailed as a pioneer in the field of Elemental Engineering 「精霊工学, seirei kōgaku」. Its engineers in the field aim to incorporate phenomena produced by elementals with dwarven technology. Despite the "Magic Soldier" project being a failure, the efforts of the engineers assigned to it earned the praise of Ramiris, who later built on their failure to create the Elemental Colossus. As part of the relationship Dwargon has with Tempest, the two nations have collaborated extensively in developing new technology, culminating in the creation of the Demon Colossus.
Foreign Relations[]
Eastern Empire[]
Main article: Nasca Namrium Ulmeria United Eastern Empire
Dwargon was able to establish diplomatic relations with the Eastern Empire and has avoided a potential invasion for a brief period which came to end when the Empire waged war. Following the Empire's surrender, Dwargon established diplomatic relations with them once more, forming the Tripartite Alliance together with the Jura-Tempest Federation.
Jura-Tempest Federation[]
Main article: Jura-Tempest Federation
Due to being the first nation to back Tempest, Dwargon has earned the most trust from them out of any country and enjoys a close relationship — one that continually pays dividends in the form of new technology and exotic goods. Gazel and his vassals have expressed great interest in Tempest's alcohol.
